1.) How do you synchronize lights to music?
Xtreme Displays uses a program called Light O Rama or Animated Lighting and a computer to synchronize lights to music. This enables us to be able to produce musical light shows that are very simple to very intricate in design and layout.
2.) What is Light O Rama?
Light-O-Rama is a set of hardware and software products that allow you to change a static holiday display or sign into a dynamic, animated one that may even be choreographed to music.
Light-O-Rama (LOR) manufactures the hardware that controls your lights, servos and motors. LOR also produces the Light-O-Rama Windows® software that allows you to design, test and run your shows with or without music.
LOR hardware is called controllers and each controller comes in 8 or 16 channel configurations. This means you can plug up to 8 or 16 different set of lights in and the software enables those channels to be programmed to do a variety of things.
3.) What is Animated Lighting?
Animated Lighting (AL) is another program that allows us to synchronize lights to music. This software program has been in use for many years and is a very pliable alternative to LOR. Our programmer can answer any questions you might have regarding this software program.
4.) What do I need to have a musical light show?
You need to have a dedicated computer, many extension cords, Christmas lights, LOR or AL software and controllers, FM Transmitter, and a willingness to do something that is fun and good for not just you but the area in which you live.
5.) If I have a static display already, can Xtreme Displays synchronize it to music?
Yes we can. At Xtreme Displays, we can take your home, business or park display and synchronize it to music. All you need is some LOR or AL controllers and software, FM Transmitter and adequate power supply to run the show.
5.) How do you broadcast the music so people can hear it on their radios?
You use a FM Transmitter. You can purchase these from hobby stores or radio stores. The best recommendation is a Ramsey FM25B or the FM30B. Depending on your size of display and location some other types of FM transmitters can be used. You find a empty radio station and set your FM transmitter to that station. Then people can tune in and listen to the music and watch the lights.
6.) What will this cost?
The cost is varied depending on size of musical light show, design, number of channels, and how many songs. Please look at the pricing page for more detailed information.
